DB Rules

Common sense will keep you out of most troubles here as well as using your best judgement. If you are confused about something we urge you to just ask, we don't bite. However, we still prefer that you read the rules.

.::General Rules::.

• DB follows the one account to one character policy. Should you wish to acquire more than one character, you must make a new account. Please don't make more than you can keep active though.
  
  
• All NEW members are automatically rewarded 1 karma point to help them on their way to ranking up a bit quicker. This does not effect current members who make a new account for a new character.
  
  
• The one rule I always live by: Treat others the way you want to be treated.
  
  
• Proboards is rated PG-13, and so... DB is as well. Mild use of cussing is allowed but we ask no sexual content. Kissing and such things is allowed, but don't go overboard please.
  
  
• Due to the back story of this forum, multiple languages in SPEECH TEXT is allowed, but we ask that at the bottom of your post, you translate it. The overall post; however, must remain in English.
  
  
• A minimum word count of 250 is required for role-play threads. We picked a number that is not difficult to achieve but still requires detail. We want to provide a bit of challenge to the RP beginners, as well as maintain a comfortable number to more advanced people, but by all means if you want to set your own goals and try to achieve more words, GO FOR IT! We love it. Despite the word count, we aren't anal about it if your a few words under the count, but if you constantly post 200 words or less, you'll be warned.
  
  
• Maximum avatar dimensions are 125x250 (width x height), there is no signature size maximum, but if it stretches the forum in either direction you will be asked to size it down or it will be removed.
  
  
• Posting templates and other table codes are allowed here, but they must not stretch the width of the forum.
  

.::In Character Rules::.

• Use the application forms provided by us please for your specific side, and refrain from editing it. We spent time creating them for a reason.
  
  
• No invincible characters. Even Junaens are not all-powerful. Everyone has their weak points.
  
  
• Every character you make must be kept active. You can have as many as you would like, just make sure you're using them all.
  
  
• One biography per thread please. Updates can be added in following posts to the thread but you cannot have multiple characters in one thread unless stated otherwise. Password for bios is: pink dino.
  
  
• Though not mandatory, Play-bys are preferred if you are using a celebrity as your character. Anime is allowed here as well, but we have no play-by list for them. If you are worried about someone using your celebrity, it would be best to claim it. As far as anime goes, just be aware of others please.
  
  
• All NEW members start out as the lowest rank of their chosen side. After a person has achieved the second rank on their original character, their new characters of that SAME side may be the same rank as well. However, you cannot make a new character of a different side at similar rank.This can be changed though by using your synchronization points.
  
  For example. Your original character is an assassin. That character has just recently gone from Recruit to Novice. The next assassin character you make can start out as a Novice, instead of having to be a Recruit again. You cannot make a Templar character of Novice stature based off your Assassin character. The Templar character must start out as a Recruit. Sorry, but this can grow to be unfair to others just starting here. You will have the option to purchase a rank for a new character, but at a hefty price.
  
  
• When owning a Homestead, you become subjected to natural occurrences as well as the possibility of pillaging. Although pillaging is upon your approval, natural occurrences are not. If a tornado decides to rip through the Frontier, it is up to the staff to decide what damages are done. If it's a hot, dry year, the Frontier can be subjected to fires, again, this is up to the staff to decide the damages. Some members buildings may be spared, others may not be. It's random.
  
  Do not become angry with us when this happens, though we promise we will not be unfair; example being, we say a fire completely burned down your home and you have to start from scratch. No. That won't happen, and if it does, we will provide help such as saying: "But citizens who make their home on the Frontier have offered their aid to you to help you rebuild your home."
  
  Pillages are done between two or more players. The staff are not involved in these events as this is completely up to the members. Between them, they must decide when this will happen, what damage will be done, etc, etc. It is then the duty of them to notify a staff member so that no one gets in trouble because we were not aware of this agreement. These things must be through PM, and proof must be given to the notified staff member (such as quotes from the PM, etc.)
  

.::Posting Rules::.

• Double posting is not allowed, please don't do that. Role-playing with yourself is also not allowed (one account of yours posts, then the other right after, rinse repeat). Two of your accounts can participate in the same thread, but there must be one other person of a different account participating.
  
  
• Posts must be in third-person. When a character speaks, please show indication of such an act, either by quotation marks ( " " ) or by color coding it. If using colors, please refrain from bright ones such as solid yellow or green. Also make sure they don't blend in to the forum itself. I will tell you right now that dark reds, blues and greens, as well as dark purples do NOT show up well with this forum. Of course grey won't get you anywhere... haha.
  
  
• God-modding or power-play is not allowed here. The only time you are allowed to control the actions and thoughts of someone else's character is if they allow it. You can 'hint' at what the other person should do, but you may not take control of their character.
  
  
• No killing other characters either unless the owner of that character has allowed it. If it was allowed, the owner of that character must be sure to notify the staff so you don't get in trouble.
  
  
• Speech text can be in other languages, but you must translate at the bottom of your post or in parenthesis beside the text.
  
  
• Only in-character posts are counted towards your synchronization points, all other boards have had their post count disabled. This is to prevent others from gaining a lot of points in a short time. We repeat, only IN-CHARACTER posts are counted towards your point total!
  
  If you are curious about the rate at which one earns points: Every 1 POST earns you 20 Sync Points.
